Position: Convention Services Manager

Job Summary:

The Convention Services Manager at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh is responsible for managing, coordinating, and executing group assignments from the Sales Department. This role involves monitoring all contractual agreements related to guest room blocks, meeting spaces, food and beverage, and special concessions. The Convention Services Manager will ensure effective communication with all departments within the casino and hotel, to successfully meet the group's needs while maintaining exceptional client relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Foster and maintain strong client partnerships to ensure seamless coordination and execution for a successful and memorable experience.
• Organize and oversee all aspects of group bookings and catering events, from the initial Sales Phase to the Post-Event Phase, including managing room blocks, diagrams, signage, Banquet Event Orders, and food and beverage requirements.
• Thoroughly review sales contracts and important information, validating details with the client.
• Handle and service room-only groups, including managing rooming lists, billing, and logistical group needs.
• Plan and attend meetings with hotel staff and clients, including Banquet Event Order Meetings, Group Resume Meetings, Menu Tastings, and Site visits.
• Maintain detailed records and trace systems to ensure events meet customer expectations.
• Maintain positive guest and employee relations through prompt, precise, and courteous communication.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on group/convention business needs.
• Previous experience in banquet/event coordination.
• Outstanding interpersonal communication skills in English to engage effectively with guests and team members.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in software like Microsoft or Google.
• Ability to successfully complete pre-employment processes.

Physical and Mental Demands:

• This role requires a combination of physical functions, including standing, walking, reaching, squatting, kneeling, bending, and the ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds. Strong finger/hand dexterity is necessary for computer and office machinery operation.
